Bus Dev/OEM manager-Genomics

Business Development/Key Account OEM Manager for Genomics

Our client develops and markets extraction & genotyping reagents, custom genotyping assays, oligonucleotides, fluorogenic probes & primers, genomic services & workflow solutions for DNA sample preparation and downstream processing.

Territory:
  • Western United States
  • Location: near any major airport in the West
  • Travel ~50%

Education and Experience:
  • Must have a B.S. in life sciences, advanced degree a plus
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years high levels commercial experience and a proven performance track record.

Requirements:
  • Must be a driver of business and experienced in conducting meetings with scientists and Director level negotiations.
  • This role requires a seasoned Key Account Rep who is accustomed to a technical consultative sales process
  • Must have experience selling to Molecular Diagnostic companies (NOT selling with a diagnostic company, selling TO them)
  • This role will be selling customer primers and oligos to Molecular Diagnostic companies for repackaging use in their kits and assays.
  • Experience selling oligos and custom primers currently or in the recent past.
  • Must have experience evaluating and implementing transactions within the genomics sector

Candidate specification:
  • Must have an understanding of rtPCR, including probe formats, their applications, strengths and weaknesses
  • Must have an understanding of oligos in molecular biology
  • Should have a practical understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements, such as 510k, PMA and ASRs

Responsibilities Include:
  • The Key Account/Business Development Manager’s core goals are to identify, develop and grow sales revenues at Strategic accounts in the Medical Diagnostics and other applied oligo-nucleotide markets.
  • To identify appropriate “go to market” strategies and partners to address emerging applied markets such as veterinary diagnostics and food testing markets.                      
  • Identify and develop new OEM customers
  • Requires working closely with global marketing leadership.
  • Present this company’s capabilities to potential 3rd party B2B partners.

Compensation:
  • Base $100-125k (flexible, DOE)
  • PLUS 45% variable commission @plan. Plus full benefits and 3 weeks’ vacation
