Midwest Sales Specialist 
Our client is a dynamic young, privately held company that has developed a proprietary microfluidic dispensing technology. High throughput Digital PCR platform completes their product mix. They seek a sales rep for the Midwest region covering multiple states to increase awareness and market share with the liquid handling instrumentation and their dPCR platform.

Compensation:
  • DOE, base $80-100k + $40k@ plan, uncapped, commissions paid quarterly
  • Mileage
  • Laptop and cell phone
  • Full benefits including 401k, matching at 3%.

Territory:
  • This territory consists of: 
    • IL, MO, IN, OH, MI, KY, TN, WI, MN, IA, WY, NE, MT and the Dakotas. Ideal locations are Chicago or St. Louis, but other major cities can work.
Travel:
  • ~50% travel

Requirements:
  • 3 + years capital equipment sales, preferably in the genomics market space.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technically interested and savvy - able to quickly learn technical products and give compelling presentations to prospects.
  • Computer skills are a must.
  • Responsive and organized. The sales person must respond in a timely fashion to every customer request and gets things done when promised.
  • Self-motivated and proactive. Prospecting to identify new customers, following up on leads, giving demos, providing quotations, negotiating pricing, and following up with purchasing, and then transitioning to the post sales installation and support team are expected tasks.
  • Note that cold calling is part of the job and you should be comfortable doing this.

Education:
  • 4 year Life Science degree, preferably biology or engineering

Requirements:
