Our client:
· Is a leader In Pre-Clinical genetic models for biotech/pharma and research institutions
- Seeks a Sales Director for the Western US region to manage and develop a team of ~ 7 sales representatives
- This position is ideal for a creative go-getter who thrives on motivating their team to over achievement
- Based in San Fran, Los Angeles or San Diego preferred.
- Covering: Western States, where the Account Managers are located.
- Travel 35%-50% depending on necessity
- Targeting the academic and biotech institutions in the regions
- Base salary $130-165k DOE
- +$75,000 variable comp at plan.
- Uncapped commissions are paid quarterly
- Mileage at government rate
- Full benefits including a matching 401k, four weeks’ vacation plus 7 Stat holidays

- BS, life sciences and an MBA (highly desirable)
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Take ownership of the Western region,
- Coach, train and develop the Account Managers in the region to over achievement.
- Mentor and develop Team Leaders to success with their direct reports.
- Create business plans and financial value propositions for the region.
- Possess high-level cross-company and partner engagement skills and a strong sense of purpose direction and leadership.
- Capable of delivering a complex mix of sales and business development skills to the sales team.
- The Sales Director must have excellent English speaking and writing skills, computer fluency with Microsoft, CRMs etc.
- Job stability with increasing levels of responsibility during the tenure.
- Proven success developing multi-million dollar regions.
- 5 years plus of relevant sales management experience in life science, preferably managing RSMs who have direct reports.
- Success at mentoring sales reps to attain corporate goals.
- Experience setting budgets, quotas, performance reviews.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of business strategy and goal setting.
- Prior success at hiring outstanding performers.
- Experience in a wide range of principles and methodology in strategic account management. Skill in designing, implementing and coordinating assignments, operations, and/or programs. Experience in making decisions or recommendations significantly developing or changing organizational policies or procedures.
- Must have Green Card or be a US citizen
- Must possess and maintain a current Passport
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good motor vehicle driving record.
