Bay area Biotech Account Manager Job #181102
Our client, a world leader in the manufacture of reagents and instruments to advance life science research and pharmaceutical drug discovery seeks an Account Manager who will develop the Biotech Incubator companies in the San Francisco Bay region. This position is ideal for a candidate with direct sales experience who likes to be the sole face to the customer representing a broad product offering that is ~80% consumables, 20% capital equipment.
Compensation:
- Base salary $90k-105k DOE
- Some flexibility on the base for an outstanding candidate
- +$45,000 variable comp at plan.
- Uncapped commissions are paid quarterly to 100%/Q and then a year end top up for overage of plan made at the Quarters

- Based in San Francisco, no relocations accepted
- Covering: Bay area, a multi-million dollar territory
- Travel is minimal, (sales meetings etc.)
- Targeting Incubator biotech accounts, no academic accounts in this role.
- Key accounts include BioLabs and Biomarin.
- BS, life sciences and an MBA (highly desirable)
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Along with key accounts, the Biotech Account Manager will be responsible for planning, reviewing and developing support to the Biotech Incubator market. Management reserves the right to add accounts to this territory as the business requires. Account managers are responsible for achieving all sales, growth targets, profit margins, forecast and revenue goals in an assigned territory through travel to assigned accounts, proactive (outbound) contact, and overall account/territory management.
- The Biotech Account Manager must have excellent English speaking and writing skills, an entrepreneurial approach, and a history of developing strong relationships with customers.
- Proven success within multi-million dollar accounts
- The ability to grow and further develop business within existing accounts
- 2+ years direct sales and/or marketing management experience in the life sciences market.
- Experience with Sales Force
- Must have Green Card or be a US citizen
- Must possess and maintain a current Passport
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good motor vehicle driving record.
